Successful first 8 Month competing

Its incredible that its already August, it was such an intense year so far. I was training a lot and had 5 competitions this year.

Es ist unglaublich, dass wir bereits August haben und ich bin sehr zu frieden wie meine Saison bis jetzt verlaufen ist. Ich habe hart trainiert und hatte bereits 5 erfolgreiche Wettkämpfe dieses Jahr.

My season started successfully in Morocco in March, where I got 5th and I was able

to keep this Position in France and Italy too. I had a little down in Germany where I had

a very bad day which put me back into 9th Position. Fuerteventura was the last tour stop of the PKRA World Tour until November where it continues in China. The wind was crazy and scary but I was able to stay calm and that allowed me to finish 5th, this pleased me as the conditions were very testing and I finished with no injuries.  I will keep on training in Egypt and Brazil so that I can bring back some good results in the last quarter.

Meine Saison habe ich erfolgreich auf dem 5en Rang in Marokko begonnen und auch in Frankreich und Italien konnte ich dieses Resultat halten. In Deutschland ist es mir leider nicht so gut gelaufen, da ich am wichtigsten Tag des Wettkampfes ein Tief hatte und es mich auf den 9en Rang zurück geworfen hat. In Fuerteventura war der letzte Wettkampf, bevor es dann im November in China weiter geht mir der PKRA World Tour. Die Konditionen waren sehr hart in Fuerteventura, aber ich konnte trotzdem ruhig und überlegt meinen Heat fahren und habe wieder den guten 5en Rang erzielt. Für mich gilt es nun fleissig weiter zu trainieren, damit ich auch den letzten Teil der Saison gute Ergebnisse nach Hause bringen kann.

5th overall, PKRA Worldtour Freestyle 2012

My first season as professional Kitesurfer is over and I can't believe, that I finished 5th on the PKRA World tour.

It was a very exciting Year and I was lucky to experience new cultures and make some great new friends.

Back in Brazil

After one Month back home, I am finally back on the Water in Brazil.

VEDIS supported me with a eye laser operation and gave me a incredible feeling of freedom back, to see 100% without contacts or glasses.

It is so nice here in Brazil where the Wind blows everyday :-)

Travel story about Panama

Panama is a wonderful place to travel to and very good for kiting.

PKRA Event Scheveningen, Holland

Gusty Wind, Waves and cold Water in Scheveningen.

We had good Wind during the first day of the Event. My first heat was against a local and I had a very bad Heat and I lost unfortunately.

After that day we had almost no more wind and only the racers were able to do a few races. I had to wait 4 days on the beach, until I had the chance to make up places on the last day of the event.

The wind was ok early in the morning, when I had my fist heat, which a won. But then it started to drop and I had almost no more wind during my second heat. I crashed my kite and I wasn’t able to relounge it again because of the strong current and I lost :-(

After the Event I left with the Liquid Force Crew to the LF Fun Tour. We are in France at the moment and we will travel to Spain tomorrow and we will be in Switzerland on the 30th and 31th of May, for a demo of our new 2012 Gear.

In the Caribbean for a few Days

I flu to England after the Event in France but it was a way to cold over there to kite, thats why I ended up in Cabarete for a few day.

Its not season right now but I was very lucky with the wind. 3 perfect days at the beginning and then a few days of heavy rain but after that the wind picked up again.

I almost forgot how nice it is to kite and to life in Cabarete. Love the flat water Spot in La Boca.

It was very nice to see my friends to share Memories from the amazing two seasons I spend in Cabarete a few years ago. This time I will not wait 5 years to go back :-) I promise.

Back in England I went to the cable, the first time for me....... on a very cold an rainy day.

I had fun and I will definitely try it again.

Award for the “Rookie of Mondial Du Vent”

I had a great time in Leucate (France), where the second Event of the PKRA World Tour took place during the last week. 


It was a little bit colder then in Morocco but we were lucky with the weather we hadn't too much rain and it was mostly dry and sunny.

The conditions were very hard, the wind was so strong and gusty, it wasn't easy to compete. Thats why I am very happy that I was able to continue my solid riding.

My first Heat in the Singles was against the strong rider Bruna Kajiya, which I have lost. But with the win against the French Girls Celine Rodenas and Clementine Bonzom in the Doubles, I made it again under the Top 5.


Furthermore, I got the award for the “Rookie of Mondial Du Vent”, which was a very nice surprise.

Single eliminations in Leucate, France

Its very windy here in Leucate and the wind is very gusty, very hard conditions.

I was on the water with my 5 Nirvana and 20m lines and I was still overpowered.

I've lost against Bruna Kajiya (2nd after the Singles).

I am on rank 7 until now and I hope that I can move up in the Double eliminations, which are

First Days in Dakhla at the first PKRA Word tour Event

We finished the singles yesterday and I still cant believe that I was able to win against the World Champion Gisela. 



I went for a safe Heat and did first 7 tricks I was 100 % sure that I am going to land them and that they count in the new judging system (12 attempts, 7 best count but from them only 2 can be from the same family)


I finished 4th in the Singles and I am looking forward to the Doubles.

I am back home from Maui, where I had an amazing time.

I love this Island and if you haven't been there you have to go, it is a must :-)

On my train journey from Munich back home to Switzerland, I had a lot of time to read my interview and the rest of the Coverage in the new issue of the kite magazine, see below.

I am happy that we had such good conditions in Hamata in January, that we were able to take pictures from different moves, like the Back roll in the new issue. 

Remember, it does not matter in what stage of kiting you are, try in each session to improve and be motivated to learn, because the feeling when you are finally able to do what you were training for is beyond words.......

From the desert to the green Paradise Maui, Hawaii

Its so wonderful to be back on Maui, one of the 8 islands of Hawaii.


There are so many things to do and to visit beside kiting and the Beach. Maui offers great Shopping Malls a lot of different Restaurants and the nature is so beautiful and rich in variety.


But I am here to prepare for the Season
and the conditions are very hard. Super strong wind and choppy water/waves.


I also meet the Liquid Force crew for the 
photo- and videoshoot of the 2013 gear.

I always get caught by the ALOHA spirit when I visit the beautiful island of Maui.

On my way to Maui

I had a really great time in the Dessert of Egypt. Even when the wind was super gusty and the water a little cold, the spot Kite Village is still one of my favorites.


I have meet a lot of nice people and I will miss the team.


The temperature back home in Switzerland is a little warmer then the weeks before, around 0° but anyway I stayed the most of the time inside.


One reason is because I was sick....... one day in front of the toilet..... not in Egypt, in Switzerland and that Yesterday, one day before my long way to Maui.
Fortunately after the Studio 54 party :-)
